HMB 4500 is supplied in capsule form, with 100 capsules per container, corresponding to 20 servings of 5 capsules each. Each serving of 5 capsules provides 5355 mg of calcium 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyrate, of which 4500 mg is 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyrate (HMB).

The capsule shell is made from gelatin, coloured with iron oxide. The label does not explicitly declare any allergens, though gelatin is of animal origin.

Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.

Calcium contributes to normal muscle function.

Mandatory information

The daily dose for athletes is 5 capsules. Training days: take 3 capsules 60 minutes before training and a further 2 capsules immediately after training. Non-training days: take 3 capsules 30 minutes before breakfast and 2 capsules approximately 30 minutes before lunch. Swallow capsules with sufficient water or sports drink. Do not chew. Do not exceed recommended dosage.
