Description
Astaxanthin is supplied in softgel capsule form, with 60 capsules per container. Each capsule provides 8 mg of astaxanthin from an oleoresin derived from the algae Haematococcus pluvialis, along with 50 mg of vitamin E.
The capsule shell is made from bovine food-grade gelatin, with glycerol used as a humectant. Other ingredients are sunflower oil, iron oxide as a colouring agent, and tocopherol-rich extracts used as an antioxidant. The label does not explicitly declare allergens but notes the capsule shell contains gelatin of bovine origin.
Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
